The 南部 Chinese province of Hainan is a tropical island in the South China Sea that offers much to the bird photographer with endemic 鸟类 including the endangered 海南孔雀雉, the colourful 海南山鹧鸪 and the lemon-yellow 海南柳莺. There are only two areas of tropical rainforest in China, in parts of 南部 云南 Province and on Hainan Island and these rainforests are also home to a number of range-restricted 鸟类 including the Eyebrowed Wren Babbler, 红头咬鹃 and 冕雀, all of which we will work towards enjoying close photographic encounters. After sun down our attention will turn to obtaining portraits of a number of 鸮 including 栗鸮, 草鸮, 仓鸮, 黄嘴角鸮 and 领角鸮. [For those photographers wanting a longer Bird-Photo-Tour to this part of China, Bird-Photo-Tours Asia does offer a 12-day post-tour extension to Guangxi and Guangdong Provinces respectively where our main photographic objectives are to obtain portraits of many of the endemic 鸟类 from this region of China including the recently discovered 弄岗穗鹛, 白翅蓝雀, 黄腹角雉, 白眉山鹧鸪 and 华南斑胸钩嘴鹛].
